veronica monture

Raised in London, Ontario, Veronica is a graduate of Queen's University with an Honours Bachelor of Fine Art in painting and a focus in architectural history.

Inspired by her own photographs and experiences, she is interested in examining architectural development within the city and the way in which our memories and emotions are affected according to the types of buildings within them.

To complement her artistic practice, Veronica most recently completed her Master of Arts degree in Art and Architectural History from York University. Her Masters thesis entitled 'Vancouver Library Square: A Foreign Object in an Unidentified Place' analyzed the Vancouver Library Square controversy over its resemblance to the Roman Colosseum and its place among the Vancouver identity.

Veronica has had the opportunity to travel around Canada, Europe, and the United States, as well as partake in architectural history excursions around the Veneto and Tuscany regions of Italy.

While Veronica continues to enjoy traveling to fuel her artistic motivations, her current career interests concern the preservation, conservation, and restoration of historic architecture.
